The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada (OSB) has established a Code of Ethics for Licensed Insolvency Trustees, which outlines their obligations regarding creditor information, fund handling, conflicts of interest, and property transactions in a Bankruptcy.
Licensed Insolvency Trustees are continuously monitored by the OSB and are required to follow federal standards of practice. The fees for consumer insolvencies are regulated by the federal government.
